Fitness made easy

Hi everyone!

So this weekend, as some of you may know was very very cold!!
This Sydney weather really is making it hard to get things done- especially exercise

But, when you have a friend by your side, exercising and all that other 'hard' stuff tends to be a lot easier.

So whether you're working outdoors with a friend, or at your local gym, working out with a partner can help

  • increase motivation
  • keep you on track
  • burn twice as many calories ( pushing yourself harder)
  • support you
So get your best friend ready for these easy peasy workouts!

Warm up
- Slow to moderate jog
If you're at the gym hop on the treadmill next to each other and start to jog on incline 2, pace 7, for 5 minutes
If you're at the park, start a light jog around the park area for 5 minutes

1. Working those arms (perfect for toning arms and strengthen your upper body)
- Park bench push ups
Use either the tables or chairs for this- do 3 sets of 12
- On the floor at the gym
Grab a mat, and get pushing!

2. Perk up your bum( we all know doing these burns more calories than any other workout and also gives you a fabulous behind!)
- Squats
Outdoors or at the gym, do 3 sets of 12 squats- Make sure your bum is coming to a 'sitting' position and face your partner and when you come up with your legs semi straight, do a 'fake' punch as you would if you were boxing. Or you can clap when you come- this helps with your balance too.
And if it doesn't burn, you're not doing them right!

3. Tone your legs ( strengthens your buttocks and legs)
- Lunges
Do these next to your partner to keep you in line - 10 sets up and down

4. Star Jumps ( helps to tone muscle all over)
Under-rated! See if you can push yourself to do intervals of 1 minute, building it up to 5 mins with a 20 second break in between. So
1 minute; 20 second break
2 minutes; 20 second break
3 minutes 20 seconds break
and so on

5. Stretch
So important especially if you dont want aching muscles the next day!

I try to workout during the week 4 times a week; I'm not yet set on a routine but when I am I will let you all know :)

My weekend workout usually consist of either working out with a friend, a long walk with my boyfriend or doing an early morning yoga class!

Every little bit helps.

xx Vanessa
